Curious monkeys share our thirst for knowledge -- ScienceDaily

We are more like monkeys than we realize. Not only are monkeys intrinsically motivated to learn, they also share 98% of our DNA. In the link above it talks about how monkeys love variety.

Retrato monkey photo. So many interesting studies about human-monkey similarities and differences. It makes you wonder why we diverged from them if we did. There are some people who still believe that we were genetically enhanced by aliens. That would be interesting wouldn’t it? Well I don’t think that aliens have helped us, because if they had, they would probably have given up when they see how we hurt our own kind and others.

So if monkeys share a thirst for knowledge, what can we say about the rest of the animal kingdom? I know that when I have had dogs, they are curious as well about life. Just take a dog on a walk and they want to sniff everything and explore the environment. It was really amazing to see that everyday they just enjoyed the simple act of sniffing. It didn’t take much to make them happy. A new odor, an old odor, or very few odors when it was snowing and cold and covered with ice. Whatever the day it didn’t matter, dogs loved to be outside and in nature. It seems that many animals love to learn and have a natural curiosity of the world. I wonder sometimes why some humans don’t seem more interested in how the world works? Can they not see how incredible and mysterious it all is?
